Marti Ashcraft
Marti has been practicing law for 32 years, and spent 30 of those years practicing in some of the largest and most prestigious law firms in the State of Nevada. Marti has the background, knowledge, expertise and experience that comes with working in large law firms, but now provides those skills and more personalized service to clients at more affordable rates.
Marti’s family moved to Las Vegas in June 1969. She remembers clearly looking out her bedroom window in their new home at a bright, shining moon on July 20, 1969, in awe knowing that there was an American man walking on the moon.
Marti attended Ed W. Clark High School in Las Vegas, graduating with high honors. She attended college in Southern California at the highly regarded Pomona College, one of The Claremont Colleges and went to law school in Washington D. C. at Georgetown Law Center
Marti has been involved with many bar-related and charitable organizations. She is a past President of the Southern Nevada Association of Women Attorneys and Clark County Bar Association. Marti has served on the Boards of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters, Girl Scouts Frontier Council, Boy Scouts Boulder Dam Council and Planned Parenthood.
Marti has been named by In Business Las Vegas as one of the “Most Influential Women in Southern Nevada” and “Who’s Who in Southern Nevada”. She was named by the Nevada Business Journal as a “Super Lawyer”. Marti has been the recipient of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce “Women of Achievement” Award and the “Distinguished Service” Award from the State Bar of Nevada.
Marti currently is the President of the Clark County Law Foundation, a non-profit entity which sponsors the most successful juvenile justice diversion program in the country and many community service projects. She also is a member of the U. S. Green Building Council Governmental Relations committee and the Steering Committee of the Nevada Sustainable Energy Coalition.
Marti is listed in the 2012 edition of the Best Lawyers of America as an outstanding practitioner in Energy Law and Commercial Litigation.
When she isn’t serving the needs of her clients, Marti enjoys spending time with her husband, Don, and their four-legged children, two dogs – Charlie and Molly – and the elder statesman of the house, Desi, a feisty orange and white cat. Marti loves to cook, enjoy fine wine, travel, watch Formula One racing and make beaded jewelry.
